Start preparation for assembly polls: BJP gen secretary
Santosh held a meeting with the party office-bearers of the Kashi region on Wednesday.
VARANASI: BJP general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh on Wednesday asked officebearers and workers to start preparations for the upcoming UP assembly polls, for which very little time is left.
Santosh arrived in Varanasi on Wednesday. He is on a twoday visit to Kashi. On his arrival, Kashi region party workers gave him a warm welcome.
Santosh held a meeting with the office-bearers of Kashi region on Wednesday. MPs, MLAs, and BJP presidents of 16 districts of the regions attended the meeting.
A senior BJP leader said that besides Santosh, Union minister for women and child development Smriti Irani, who represents Amethi parliamentary seat, also attended the meeting.
According to a press statement, Santosh said that all the party workers and leaders, including MPs and MLAs, should start preparations for the upcoming UP assembly polls with complete dedication because very little time is left.
He said that the elections in the country need to be steered away from casteism to nationalism. Nationalism is our strength and BJP works hard for it.
Santosh said that every Vidhan Sabha in charge has to activate Shakti Kendra, Booth Committee
and Panna Pramukhs.
He asked the workers to make maximum use of the means of publicity and dissemination, coordinate with the old workers, elected public representatives and work with them.
He said, “We have to pay special attention to what the opposition parties SP, BSP, Congress are doing. We have to destroy the strategies of opposition parties.”
According to a well-placed source, Santosh also took feedback from Kashi region’s BJP president Mahesh Chandra Srivastava.
Kashi region BJP spokesperson Navaratan Rathi said that the party general secretary offered prayers to Baba Kashi Vishwanath and attended Ganga Arti at Dashashwamedh Ghat.
