100-feet high tricolours to come up at NCR’s Fatehpur, Mirzapur stns
PRAYAGRAJ: With an aim to instil a spirit of patriotism among the people and enhance the beauty of railway stations, the North Central Railway (NCR) is going to install 100-feet high tricolours and decorative lights at several railway stations in all three divisions under its jurisdiction - Agra, Jhansi and Prayagraj.
The tricolour has been installed at 16 stations of the three divisions of NCR so far while installing the same at 13 other stations are under process. Soon, the tricolour will be hoisted at Fatehpur and Mirzapur stations of the Prayagraj division, informed NCR officials.
Railway has almost completed the work related to installing the tricolour in the station premises of these two stations, they added.
Besides approval has also been given to install attractive lights, so that the glory of the tricolour can be seen from afar.
Officials said that the 100-feet high tricolour has already been installed in 16 railway stations of the three divisions of NCR. Among the station under Prayagraj division, tricolour has been installed at NCR headquarter (Subedarganj) along with Prayagraj Junction, Robertsganj and Kanpur. Installation of the similar tricolour at other stations of the division is also under process, including at Etawah, Aligarh Junction, Firozabad, Hathras and Mainpuri. Installation of tricolour would be commissioned at Mirzapur and Fatehpur stations soon.
“Preparations have been made to install the 100-feet high tricolour at two stations of NCR, namely Fatehpur and Mirzapur, while the work for other stations is under the process”, informed the chief public relation officer of NCR, Shivam Sharma.
A team of Prayagraj division is already working at these two stations, he added.
Likewise, at the stations coming under Jhansi division of NCR, the installation of tricolour has been commissioned at nine stations of the division, including Jhansi, Gwalior, Khajuraho, Bhind, Lalitpur, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Murena and Banda. The process is underway for installing the same at other stations too, including Hamirpur, Mahoba, Chitrakoot Dham, Karvi, Sheopur Kalan and Datia.
The 100-feet high tricolour has already been commissioned in all the three stations of Agra division, including Agra Cantonment, Mathura and Dhaulpur.
