MAN ARRESTED FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING FIVE MINOR BOYS

VARANASI: A man, who allegedly sexually assaulted five minor boys, was arrested on Tuesday. The accused has been identified as Murari Lal, a resident of Gangapur in Varanasi district, police said.

During interrogat­ion the accused said that he met a person (close to the children’s parents) of Chaubepur area about six months ago. Murari mentioned that he can get the children admitted in a prominent government school, police said.

The man arranged Murari’s meeting with the children’s parents. Murari asked for Rs 30,000 in lieu of the admission of one child, which was given to him, a police officer said.

Later, when the two boys came to Varanasi, Murari took them to an isolated place where he allegedly sexually assaulted the two and then escaped. The two boys managed to reach home and narrated the entire incident to their family.

The man, whom Murari had met, contacted Murari and told him that he wanted to meet him. When Murari agreed the man also alerted the police.

“When Murari came to meet the man, police arrested him. He revealed that he targeted three more children in the past,” he said.
