‘Adopt Sanskrit to revive culture, bring cultural unity’

VARANASI: Dinesh Kamat, secretary, Organizati­on of Sanskrit Bharti said here on Monday that the knowledge, tradition and ideology of India were rooted in Sanskrit itself. To revive culture, it was a must to adopt Sanskrit.

Speaking at the concluding ceremony of the ongoing three-day workshop on research project at Panini Bhawan auditorium under the joint auspices of Sampurnana­nd Sanskrit University, Varanasi and Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthan, Kamat said that the biggest reason for the deformity prevailing in the present day society was the abandonmen­t of Indian culture. Cultural unity among different states was due to Sanskrit.

Kamat said that one who studied Sanskrit may attain proficienc­y in any language of the country. The goal of life should be to study Sanskrit.

Guest of honour, Dr Vachaspati, president of Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthan, Lucknow, said that at present, the effort of the government was to make Sanskrit the language of the common man. Now Sanskrit colleges were also getting the opportunit­y to do research work, he said.

Vice chancellor of Sampurnana­nd Sanskrit University Prof Hareram Tripathi said that a new dimension was emerging in Sanskrit colleges through research projects. The knowledge of Sanskrit, culture and sanskar should be put to use for common man, he said.

National general secretary of Sanskrit Bharati, Padmashree Chamu Krishna Shastri said that many equipments were mentioned in the Vedas. if research was done, new findings would emerge. Through research, Indian sages scaled heights in nyaya, mimamsa, Vedas, mathematic­s, and grammar.
