Will make U’khand ideal state by 2025: CM Dhami
HALDWANI/DEHRADUN: Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday said the BJP will make the state an ideal one in the country by 2025.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said the present decade will be of Uttarakhand. We are fully committed to work on his vision for the state and hence will increase the pace of development our government has triggered to make Uttarakhand an ideal state in the country by 2025,” Dhami said while addressing a gathering at Haldwani as part of the state foundation day celebrations.
“I dream of an Uttarakhand where every citizen is healthy, happy and don’t suffer from any sorrow.”
Addressing the crowd, he also hailed the role of women in the formation of state in 2000.
“Our mothers and sisters played a vital role in formation of state...I bow before them. Our government is determined to empower them both socially and economically in the state for which we have started many self-employment schemes for them,” said Dhami.
During the occasion, he also announced to open an information technology academy in Haldwani.
“It would be established in the Uttarakhand Open University in Haldwani. Once established, it will help in developing IT skills in the youth which would open more employment opportunities for them,” said the CM.
Later during the occasion, he also felicitate police personnel and rescue agencies for their
“exemplary services” during the disaster caused by heavy rains from October 17-19 in the Kumaon region.
The Congress leaders on Wednesday held one hour symbolic silence fasting after accusing the BJP government of “misusing the power” to cancel their scheduled programme in Haldwani near the same venue.
Congress national general secretary Harish Rawat said, “It is very unfortunate that the BJP had misused the government machinery to force us to cancel our preplanned programmeVijay Shankhnad in Haldwani just 100m away from today’s event of CM.
“The government should give a chance to all the parties to excercise their democratic right during the time of election.”
Congress Vijay Shankhnad event would be held on Thursday in Haldwani in which the state leadership will be welcoming former cabinet minister in present BJP governmentYashpal Arya and his MLA son Sanjiv Arya who joined Congress last month from BJP.
