Ur du” Academy” hosts” Mushaira” in” Gkp
GORAKHPUR : In order to spread the message of love and unity, the Urdu Academy hosted Mushaira and Kavi Sammelan at Maulana Azad High School, on Monday night. The event hosted many young poets who touched an array of topics and entertained hundreds of people.
Social media sensation Ankita Singh, a young poetess who belongs to Bihar, recited
her popular poetry, “Tumhare bin hamari rat k bas do hi kisse hain, kabhi hichki nahin rukti kabhi siski nahin rukti”.
On the demand of the audience, Ankita recited more poetry.
The crowd was cheering for her and many recorded the event on their phones.
Besides Ankita, Kaleem Kaser, Mehshar Afridi, Tahir Faraz, Ali Tabish, Jameel Khairabadi, Saba Balrampuri also entertained the audiences with their poems.
Addressing the event, Haji Kaif-ul-Wara, chairman of the Urdu Academy said that the Urdu language should not be associated with a particular community and great poets in the past including Prem Chand, Firaq Gorakhpuri are names which will be remembered for their remarkable contribution to Urdu literature.
Urdu Academy is organising Mushairas in various districts to promote the Urdu language, and the event in Gorakhpur was part of this initiative, said Zuhair-bin- Saghir, secretary of the Urdu Academy.
MLA Radha Mohan Das, MLA Vipin Singh, Congress leader Syed Jamal, officials from the Urdu Academy and district administration enjoyed the six-hour-long cultural evening.
The event began at 10pm and concluded at 4am.
Dr Ashfaq Umar, Dr Aziz Ahmed, Zaid Ahmed, among others were also present on the occasion.
