PRAYAGRAJ: Former Union minister and senior BJP leader Uma Bharti on Wednesday dubbed UP chief minister, Yogi Adityanath, as her “better and advanced version”. She predicted a landslide victory for the saffron party in the forthcoming assembly elections in UP.

Talking to mediapersons after paying obeisance at the lord Shiv temple constructed by state cabinet minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ in Prayagraj, Uma Bharti said that the UP CM had been dedicated to the overall development of the state and has left his rivals far behind.

“He has not only proved himself but has also served the people of the state tirelessly. There is no doubt that he is my better and advanced version,” said the former MP chief minister. She further claimed that the BJP would “script success stories in 2022 state assembly polls”.

“People are fed up with parivarvad (nepotism) and leaders who get active in the run-up to elections will go empty-handed this time. Already there is a stampede-like situation in the SP and Mulayam Singh Yadav’s family while the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief is still in isolation,” she said while going on to claim that the time of SP, BSP and the Congress was over.

“It does not help when you get active during polls. You have to work hard for five to seven years for the masses. You have to work really hard to get your work noticed. “No party will be able to stand before the BJP in 2022. Opposition parties will not even touch double digits as far as seats are concerned as the people of the state have already made up their mind to support the BJP, which would register an impressive triumph in the assembly polls,” Bharti added.
