GANGRAPE CASE LODGED AGAINST PROPERTY DEALER, AIDES

PRAYAGRAJ: : woman was allegedly gang raped inside a car under Civil Lines police station a few months back. On her complaint, police lodged an FIR against the four accused for gang rape, issuing threats and embezzlement of money.

In her complaint, the woman hailing from eastern UP said that she lived on rent in Cantonment area. She claimed that one Deepak Pal took Rs 26 lakh from her for getting her some property. On August 26, Deepak called her near DRM office and took her with him in his car on the pretext of returning her money. However, Deepak and his three aides took her to Naini area where they gang raped her. They were planning to kill her but she managed to escape. The woman approached senior police officials when her case was not registered despite making complaint. SHO Civil Lines JP Shahi said an FIR had

been lodged against the accused property dealer, his three aides and his kin. Further investigation was on, he added.

Two held for attack on BJP Kisan Morcha leader Police arrested two people in connection with the attack on BJP Kisan Morcha leader Ajay Sharma who was shot at near a cow shelter at Lehra village under Phaphamau police station of trans-Ganga area in the night on November 8. It is alleged that the arrested people were involved in the conspiracy behind the attack. However, police are yet to arrest the shooters involved in the assault on Sharma.

According to reports, Ajay Sharma, 35, was waylaid by unidentified miscreants who sprayed him with bullets. Sharma received multiple bullet injuries and was admitted to a private hospital for treatment. On Wednesday, police arrested Surendra Kumar and Atul Dwivedi of Gaddopur on the basis of statement given by Sharma.
