‘RAHUL, PRIYANKA WILL MAKE CONG STRONGER’
HARIDWAR: Former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat said on Saturday that the Congress will get stronger under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.
“Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi both have the capability to lead the party in near future,” Rawat said while speaking at the inaugural session of a two-day national working committee meeting of Rahul Priyanka Gandhi Sena in Haridwar.
“There is anti-BJP undercurrent and Rahul Priyanka Gandhi Sena activists by reaching out to voters can convert it into a strong pro-Congress wave,” the Congress national general secretary said, lauding the work and dedication of the outfit.
“BJP has failed to live up to the expectations of the people. Congress under the leadership of party president Sonia Gandhi is giving stiff resistance to the divisive, anti-poor, antipeasant, anti-labour and anticommon man BJP. In upcoming assembly elections in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, the Congress will succeed in forming governement,” Rawat said.
A pledge to keep the Ganga clean was undertaken by Rawat and activists present at the working commitee convention.
Rahul Priyanka Gandhi Sena president Jagdeesh Sharma said their activists are committed to ensuring Congress’ win in upcoming assembly polls and 2024 parliamentary elections.
Organisation’s Uttarakhand president Madan Lal Valmiki said, “In Garhwal and Kumaon divisions Sena is carrying out assembly seat-wise meetings and party conventions to mobilise support for the Congress in assembly elections.”
On the first day, the convention passed a proposal, among 10 proposals other, for making Rahul Gandhi the All India Congress Committee national president.
