PRAYAGRAJ : The Samajwadi Party tweeted a complaint of inaction in connection with allegations of rape made by a woman who worked in the mess of Kydganj police station. The woman had alleged rape by a constable of the police station.

Prayagraj police also tweeted its reply and claimed that the woman was not regular worker and the allegations of rape have been made to get permanent job in the mess. The complainant has agreed for a compromise in the case, the tweet added.

According to reports, the woman is a resident of Sarai Inayat area. In her complaint, which she had given at Kydganj police station on December 27 and also forwarded to senior officials, the woman claimed that a constable at Kydganj police station raped her while she was working in the mess on

December 25. The cops at the police station then threatened her to keep mum about the incident. The woman also complained through the online portal and also put it on WhatsApp.

On Friday, a tweet in this connection, through the official Twitter handle of the Samajwadi Party, was addressed to the chief minister. The party raised questions on the security of women while alleging that the woman was raped by a policeman.

In response, the Prayagraj police tweeted that that complaint was made by the woman on December 27 through IGRS. Investigations revealed that the woman made false allegations to get a job in the mess. The woman was called for temporary work but she wanted to work there on a regular basis. The allegations were made to mount pressure for securing a job. Both parties have already agreed for a compromise.
