BSP to field candidates in all 70 assembly seats

THE FIRST LIST FEATURES PROMINENT NAMES LIKE FORMER CABINET MINISTER SARBAT KARIM ANSARI

HARIDWAR: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will soon release second list comprising of remaining 33 assembly seats in the state. The BSP recently released its first list comprising of 37 candidates.

The first list features prominent names like former cabinet minister Sarbat Karim Ansari and former legislator Mohammed Shahzad. BSP state president Sheeshpal Singh said: “We have tried to make balance in the form of experience and youth with candidate’s dedication and loyalty towards party also taken into account. Soon the second list will be released and party is confident of winning maximum seats this time.”

Prominent party candidates given by ticket by BSP include Sarvat Karim Ansari (Manglaur), Mohammed Shahzad (Laksar), Subodh Rakesh (Bhagwanpur), Rakesh Gaursali (Pauri), Buddhilal (Gangotri) and from Badrinath Mukesh Koswal.

From Kumaon division Dinesh Kumar (Gangolihat), Dwarahat (Anand Ballabh), Jagdeesh Kumar (Someshwar), Rakesh Verma (Champawat),

Bhuwan Arya (Bhimtal), Jitendra Kumar (Haldwani) and Gagan Kamboj (Kashipur).

Mohammed Shahzad, a twotime legislator, exuded confidence that the BSP will regain its lost political status in the state assembly when it was the third largest party.

BJP Laksar legislator Sanjay Gupta, against whom Shahzad is pitted, said there was pro-BJP wave and the BSP will fail to open its account in the polls again. “Both at the Central and state level, the BJP government­s have done large scale developmen­t in the state. Under leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami our party will win 60 plus seats in next month Assembly polls, “said Gupta.
