Computer baba seeks vote for Anupama Rawat
HARIDWAR: Madhya Pradeshbased seer Namdev Tyagi, popularly known as Computer Baba, is reaching out to public a doorto-door campaign seeking votes for Congress candidate from Haridwar rural segment Anupama Rawat, who is the daughter of Harish Rawat.
Computer Baba is urging voters to ensure they cast vote in the longer interest of their segment, the state, the country and democracy.
“Everyone should exercise his or her right to vote as this has been provided by Constitution of India. We need to vote for honest, dedicated and development-oriented candidates. I am seeking votes for Anupama Rawat and getting overwhelming response from the public,” Computer Baba said while campaigning at Shyampur Kangdi village.
The seer got the name Computer Baba as he is well versed in computer technology.
BJP candidate Swami Yatishwaranand refused to comment on Computer Baba campaigning for his Congress rival Anupama. “I am busy meeting people, carrying out door-to-door campaign and focusing on my campaign. Whosoever is campaigning is free to do so but people are with me owing to mass development works carried out in the rural area. The BJP will win all the 11 segments in Haridwar,” said two-time sitting legislator.
Political activist Manish Karnwal said as BJP has fielded a saint candidate, so the Congress has also roped in a saint.
Local resident and seer Mahant Narayan Das said: “Computer Baba has been involved in conservation of Narmada, Shipra and Mandakini. This is land of Ganga and lessening Ganga pollution and prohibition on quarrying is a major concern for seers.”
