‘Gandhi family is Char Dham for Cong leaders’
RUDRAPUR: Uttarakhand is the sacred land of four dhams, but for the Congress, the four dhams are - Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Robert Vadra - around whom its leaders keep circumambulating, Madhya Pradesh chief minister and BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Sunday as he took a dig at the opposition party’s campaign theme of “Char Dham, Char Kaam”.
Chouhan was addressing a public rally in Lohaghat of Champawat district for party candidates Pooran Singh Fartyal from Lohaghat and Rajesh Kumar from Bazpur in US Nagar.
He also held a door-to-door campaigning in Kashipur from Kila Colony and main market and appealed to the people to vote for BJP candidate Trilok Singh Cheema.
Chouhan said former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee created separate Uttarakhand and Modi decked it up with development. The BJP is the only

party that can make ensure holistic development of the state.
During his address in Lohaghat, he said, “Uttarakhand is a land of brave and saints. The youth of this state are deployed at the borders and they keep sacrificing their lives for the security of the country. India is heading towards development and gaining self-respect in the world.”
He said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi blamed the BJP for two Indias of rich and poor but the reality is that Congress is responsible for division of India.
Chouhan said India used to be known as a corrupt country before the BJP regime, but now it is known as a powerful and developing country. “In the Galwan valley, the Chinese army had fled when Indian soldiers confronted them” he said.
Chouhan said, “Several developmental works are going on under Modi-Dhami leadership in Uttarakhand. Pushkar Singh Dhami is an energetic CM and this leadership will change the scenario of this state. Congress is known for nepotism and BJP is for development and evolution. In Uttarakhand itself Harish Rawat and his daughter are contesting elections,” he said
Slamming AAP, Chouhan said, “Arvind Kejriwal is a man who shows dreams only and after showing them he runs away. He talks of providing one lakh jobs in Uttarakhand. He should tell how many jobs he provided in Delhi.”
Mathura Dutt Joshi, general secretary state Congress, said the Congress wants to thank Chouhan for comparing Congress leaders with Char Dham. “But at the same time, he should at least have spoken about major four works undertaken by the BJP government in the state. He is talking about corruption. Has he forgotten what happened in Vyapam scam during his tenure,” he said.
