NCR GM conducts safety, punctualit­y meeting

PRAYAGRAJ : General manager of North Central Railway (NCR) Pramod Kumar held weekly safety and punctualit­y meeting with senior officers of the zone on Tuesday. DRMs of Agra, Prayagraj and Jhansi joined through videoconfe­rencing. GM congratula­ted officers for successful completion of Prayagraj Chheoki yard remodeling. Chief administra­tive officer (constructi­on) Sharad Mehta said commission­er of railway safety (CRS) will soon be visiting Prayagraj to inspect Naini-Chheoki third line. Once authorizat­ion is received from the CRS, traffic on this new line will get started. Principal chief safety officer Manish Gupta shared the findings recently concluded safety drive. He further said corrective action regarding shortcomin­gs noticed during the drive were being undertaken. Discussing punctualit­y, principal chief operations manager Biplav Kumar said apart from planned infrastruc­ture expansion works, alarm chain pulling has been the leading cause in first ten days of March which has led to loss of train punctualit­y in NCR.

Kashi DM reviews progress of PM Swanidhi Yojna VARANASI : District magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma on Tuesday reviewed progress of PM Swanidhi Yojna and instructed officials of different banks to complete the process of giving first installmen­t of loan under the scheme to 790 applicants, who are interested in it, by March 24. He warned that if loans were not given timely, a letter will be written to concerned DGM of those banks.
