Tributes paid to Bismillah Khan
VARANASI: Music lovers paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Ustad Bismillah Khan on his birth anniversary in Kashi on Monday. Congress leader Ajay Rai, Ustad’s kin and his fans, including Shakeel Jadoogar offered flowers at Ustad’s mausoleum in Sigra.
Jadoogar said that despite being a worldfamous Shehnai maestro, Ustad lived a simple life. He was a Banarasi and was full of Banarasipan.
Ustad’s kin including Jareen Beghum, Azara Beghum, Afaq Haidar, Ifthekhar Ahmad and others attended the event.
Short term course begins
PRAYAGRAJ: A five-day short-term course on training on geospatial technologies for disaster mitigation, organised by GIS Cell of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT)Allahabad, began on Monday. This course is sponsored by National Geospatial Programme (erstwhile NRDMS), DST.
