Body of minor girl exhumed

PRAYAGRAJ : Body of a minor girl was exhumed 19 days after her death as her mother claimed some foul play. The body was exhumed from her grave at Leelapur Ghat in presence of SDM Phulpur and senior police officials. According to reports, resident of a village under Sarai Inayat police station of trans-Ganga area, the girl died on March 10 and was buried by her kin without informing police. However, her mother approached police officials claiming that she found a mobile, some jewellery and objectiona­ble items near her house. Raising doubts that her daughter was raped and killed, she requested for an autopsy of her body. CO

‘Dispose of IGRS complaints quickly or face action‘

VARANASI : Police commission­er A Satish Ganesh has warned station officers who aren’t prompt in disposing of public grievances received on the online Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS). “All police station incharges have been instructed for quick disposal of public grievances. Strict action would be taken in case of laxity,” he said. Warning has been issued to station officers Sarnath, Bhelupur, Luxa, Manduadih for disposing less than 75 percent complaints received on the IGRS portal.
