SSP INTENSIFIES NIGHT PATROLLING TO CHECK RECENT SPURT IN CRIME

-

PRAYAGRAJ : In a bid to control crimes, the Prayagraj district has been divided into three zones and seven sectors by SSP-Prayagraj Ajay Kumar. Ten senior police officials will also now patrol during the night under their respective jurisdictions and will check for suspicious persons.

The officials will follow the 3-4-5 scheme under which each police officer will check at least 3 police stations, 4 police outposts and 5 PRVs (police response vehicles) under their jurisdictions.

The scheme has been implemented after a recent spurt in incidents of crimes in Prayagraj including city and rural areas. Police officials are especially focusing on rural areas after the recent incident of multiple murders at Khevrajpur village under Tharwai police station in the trans-Ganga area.

Circle officers have been asked to keep an eye on the working of cops under their jurisdictions and ensure that they are patrolling regularly in their areas. SSP Ajay Kumar said the night patrolling scheme has been enforced in the district. Officials have been asked to be extra alert in interior and rural areas. Ten police officials including three gazetted will ensure strict night patrolling during which persons found roaming will be questioned and checked. Police will check dhabas, eateries etc to search for suspected persons, SSP added.

It is worth mentioning that during the last five days Prayagraj has witnessed eight incidents of murder including that of Tharwai where five persons of a family were killed. On Wednesday, two persons were shot dead in Dhumanganj while another person was gunned down in the Naini area on Thursday.
