TWO TEACHERS TERMINATED FOR FORGING PAPERS TO GET JOBS
HALDWANI: The Uttarakhand education department terminated two teachers for getting jobs by using fake documents. One teacher had produced forged documents while the other had tampered with documents to reduce his age, officials said on Friday.
“Bhawna Chhimwal was working in a primary school located on Kaladhungi Road in Haldwani. She had also served in Kotabagh primary school. After serving in hilly areas, she was transferred to plains in Haldwani. Here she was accused of getting a job with forged documents. In the investigation, the teacher’s high school documents didn’t match with that of the Uttar Pradesh board of secondary education,” said HB Chand, district education officer (elementary education), Nainital.
“The documents of Mohan Chandra Brijwasi, a teacher working in a government primary school at Jhaluwajala in Kotabag block, were checked. He had crossed the age limit of 40 years at the time of getting the job. To get the job, he had tampered with the documents and reduced his date of birth. This was confirmed in the departmental inquiry. Thereafter both were terminated from service,” Chand said.
“Both the teachers were under suspension and an investigation was going on against both of them for two years. Now, both have been dismissed from service. Action will be taken against both of them as per departmental rules,” he said.
Earlier, the state government had formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe irregularities in teachers’ appointment in Uttarakhand.
Both have been dismissed from service after an investigation. Action will be taken as per rules.
