‘Divyakala Shakti Prog’ on May 27

THIS PROG IS BEING ORGANISED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN NORTH INDIA

VARANASI: Divyang artistes from six states will participat­e in “Divyakala Shakti Programme” to be held at Rudraksha Convention Centre here on May 27.

During their visit, the artists will also offer prayers to Baba Kashi Vishwanath.

This programme is being organized for the first time in north India by the department of empowermen­t of persons with disabiliti­es, ministry of social justice and empowermen­t, Government of India in associatio­n with Integrated Regional Skill Developmen­t, Rehabilita­tion and Empowermen­t of Persons with Disabiliti­es Centre with full cooperatio­n by the district administra­tion. Divyang artistes will showcase their talent through cultural programmes and dance.

District magistrate S Rajalingam held an online meeting on Wednesday and instructed officials to make this programme a success.

He directed to set up help desks at railway stations and airports.

He said that nodal officers should be appointed at the hotels where visitors/guests would stay and emergency numbers must be available there.

The DM also gave instructio­ns to take all necessary security measures at the hotel and Rudraksh, the venue of the event.

Chief developmen­t officer Himanshu Nagpal instructed the chief medical officer Dr Sandip Chaudhary to deploy an ambulance at the venue.

The district magistrate also asked the chief executive officer of Baba Kashi Vishwanath Temple to arrange adequate number of wheel-chairs at the time of darshan.

Nodal district disability empowermen­t officer Ramprakash Singh has appealed that all voluntary organizati­ons registered under the Rights of Persons with Disabiliti­es Act participat­e in this programme to encourage the talent of disabled artistes .
