Ahead of Lok Sabha polls, BJP releases list of ‘star campaigners’ for all five seats in U’khand
DEHRADUN: Ahead of the crucial Lok Sabha polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday released a list of leaders who would be star campaigners for party candidates on all five seats in the state.
All five seats in Uttarakhand are set to go to polls in the first phase on April 19.
People aware of the matter said the list of star campaigners include at least 40 BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah and Union minister for road, transport and highways Nitin Gadkari.
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, union minister Smriti Irani, Union minister
Anurag Thakur, Union minister VK Singh, Union minister Shantanu Thakur, BJP national general secretary Dushyant Kumar Gautam, BJP state chief Mahendra Bhatt, Haryana chief minister Nayab Kumar Saini, and Rajya Sabha MP from Uttarakhand Naresh Bansal are also among the star campaigners for the party.
Several other leaders like BJP national secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Rajya Sabha MP and Garhwal Lok Sabha candidate Anil Baluni, former Uttarakhand chief minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, former Uttarakhand chief minister and Haridwar candidate
Trivendra Singh Rawat, former chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat, former chief minister Vijay Bahuguna, Union minister and Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar candidate Ajay Bhatt, BJP state general secretary (organisation) Ajaey Kumar, Mathura candidate Hema Malini, North east Delhi candidate Manoj Tiwari, Rajya Sabha MP from Uttarakhand Kalpana Saini, former Union minister Shahnawaz Hussain will also address the people of state.
All ministers of the Dhami cabinet have also been included in the list of star campaigns for the state — Satpal Maharaj, Premchand Aggarwal, Subodh Uniyal, Dhan Singh Rawat, Ganesh Joshi, Rekha Arya, Saurabh Bahuguna. BJP state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said: “Our high command has finalised a list of 40 star campaigners for Lok Sabha elections in the state. Many senior leaders including PM Modi and National President JP Naddha will address jan sabhas in support of party’s candidates in the state.”
