Minor girl raped by two youths in Pratapgarh

PRAYAGRAJ: A minor girl was allegedly raped by some youths in a village under Sangipur police station of Pratapgarh district on Sunday night. The accused issued threats to the girl when she tried to protest. An FIR has been registered against the two youths identified as Mohd Arif and Kallu Verma on complaint of girl’s mother, said SHO of Sangipur police station Manish Kumar Tripathi. Rfforts were underway to nab them, he added.

Crude bombs hurled at corporator’s car PRAYAGRAJ: Miscreants hurled crude bombs on the vehicle of a corporator in Civil Lines area late Tuesday night. The corporator received no injuries in the attack. On his complaint, an FIR has been registered against one named and some unidentifi­ed assailants, police said. A resident of Cooper Road, Bablu Singh Raghuwansh­i is a corporator of ward number 58. It is alleged that he was in his car on Tuesday night near China Town crossing when two persons on a bike reached near his vehicle. One of them hurled two crude bombs at his car.

SHO of Civil Lines police station Ramashray Yadav said an FIR has been registered on complaint of the corporator.

PRAYAGRAJ: Chief safety commission­er (RPF) NCR Amiy Nandan Sinha felicitate­d RPF sub-inspector Sanjay Kumar Rawat who saved the life of a passenger at Prayagraj Junction on April 14. SI Sanjay Kumar Rawat is posted at RPF post Prayagraj and was on duty at platform number one on Sunday morning.

At 11.18 am, Bikaner Express arrived at platform number one of the junction. A passenger Sajjan Singh Shekhawat, 63, got down from his coach to get food. However, the train moved before he could board it. Shekhawat tried to get inside the moving train and lost balance and clung to the iron bar of the door. Rawat dragged Shekhawat on the platform and saved his life.

Man strangled to death, wife detained PRAYAGRAJ : A 35-year-old man was strangled to death in Gohri village under Phaphamau police station. The body of the man, dentified as Rajkumar, also known as Mithun, was discovered with strangulat­ion marks in his house on Wednesday morning. The postmortem report confirmed that he was strangled. Rajkumar’s wife has been detained for questionin­g on suspicion, according to police.
