Marathi may be com­pul­sory till Class 12 in Maha schools

MUM­BAI: The state gov­ern­ment is con­sid­er­ing mak­ing Marathi manda­tory till Class 10 or Class 12 in all schools af­fil­i­ated to all boards in Ma­ha­rash­tra, ed­u­ca­tion min­is­ter Vinod Tawde told state assem­bly on Tues­day. He said the de­ci­sion will be taken af­ter due de­lib­er­a­tion by the Ma­ha­rash­tra State Board of Se­condary and Higher Se­condary Ed­u­ca­tion. Cur­rently, it is a com­pul­sory sub­ject up to class 8 in schools run by the CBSE and the CISCE.
