What happens when a Bollywood hottie decides to be part of Gurgaon’s best music jam? Witness it live as fans cheer for actor Akshay Kumar, tonight, at Hindustan Times Friday Jam season 4 — the biggest celebration of music in Delhi-NCR.

The musical evening will have Akshay in conversation with Sonal Kalra, National Editor, Entertainment and Lifestyle, Hindustan Times; about his latest film, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.

There will also be two rock bands setting the stage on fire, with high-octane renditions of songs such as Shape of You, Kabira and Dil Chahta Hai, in acoustics version. “Friday Jam is an amazing platform. We believe in engaging the audience, so our performances are usually impromptu,” says Aditya Jassi, vocalist of the rock band Unplugged.

The Delhi-based Sufi rock band Rocknaama is excited about Akshay’s presence, and has planned to belt out hit numbers — Har Kisi Ko, Soch, and Tashan — from his films.

Shaheen Salmani, vocalist from the six-piece band, says, “The band started as a duo and gradually the love for music brought other members on board, too. We do covers but in our own style — jazz, punk rock and jazz rock. We like to be versatile in our music.”

Among the special guests this evening will be Priyanka Bharti and Jabna Chauhan. Priyanka, from Maharajgang, has been recognised for demanding a toilet at her in-laws’ house.

23-year-old Jabna, from Tharjoon panchayat in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, was the youngest sarpanch of India when appointed at 22. Her panchayat was declared the cleanest in Mandi. “If we maintain cleanliness, our children will also follow in our footsteps,” says Jabna.

Akshay will felicitate these women for their efforts in cleanliness, at the event.
