John Cena willing to walk Meghan Markle down the aisle
Amid news that Meghan Markle’s father will skip her royal wedding with Prince Harry tomorrow, at Windsor Castle, UK, actor John Cena has joked that he can walk the former Suits cast member down the aisle.
Cena spoke about the wedding when he shared cohosting duties on a TV show on Tuesday, reports people.com.
Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, had told the website TMZ that he wouldn’t go for the wedding amid a row over paparazzi photographs. He then said that he’d go for his daughter’s big day. And then again said that he couldn’t because of a heart procedure scheduled for the same day.
The TV hosts spoke to royal correspondent Keir Simmons after news broke that the bride’s father wouldn’t be there. Simmons jokingly suggested Cena’s intervention was needed, saying, “Hey, John — [at] this wedding, we’re going to have the royals, we’re going to have Diana’s family, the Spencers, now we’re going to have the Markle family. I think we may need you here, my man, to intervene.” Cena responded, “It seems like there is some drama that’s in need of a special guest referee.”
Cena’s co-host said to him, “She is in need of someone to give her away, isn’t she? Who better than you?” Cena joked, “I can hop on a plane, I can get there in a few days.”
