Actor Janhvi Kapoor not only received praise for her first film Dhadak, but also gained a lot of admiration when she got back to her professional commitments soon after her mother, actor Sridevi, passed away.

The young actor has now won her first award: the Face of the Future Award at the 2018 Women in Film and Festival (WIFT) India Awards, which was held in Washington DC on September 8.

Her father, producer Boney Kapoor is ecstatic with his daughter’s first award. Talking about it, the proud father says, “It’s overwhelming and a proud moment for any father. I know this will be the first of many. It feels wonderful and I know there is also a lot of pressure on her. But Janhvi is confident and responsible, and she will work hard to not disappoint her fans, both at home and across the globe.”

Kapoor says that Janhvi, in a lot of ways, has acquired all the good qualities of her late mother, whom she considered her role model. He adds, “She is very hardworking and dedicated. She is also very disciplined and wants to keep improving. I feel that’s important for an actor. She has inherited her charisma from her mother, and has an innate vulnerability in her voice and appearance, which is very endearing.”
