Actor Angad Bedi says that being a part of Soorma, a biopic on hockey player Sandeep Singh was creatively satisfying for him. In the sports drama, he played the role of Singh’s [character played by Diljit Dosanjh] elder brother. The son of the former cricketer, Bishen Singh Bedi, Angad’s interest in sports is no surprise but he shares that it was while shooting for Tiger Zinda Hai that he got to try out several kinds of sports and his co-star Salman Khan was equally enthusiastic.

“During the shoot, I had taken up kick-boxing because I was training for my part. Salman bhai taught me the correct technique of a kick, punch, the hook, how you use a bag, how you can use your core, how can you gain maximum strength in each kick, etc.,” says Angad, adding that cricket was another sport they bonded over. “He has got a great batting stance. He is a left-hander. We played a lot of volley ball and tennis, too. Basically, we wanted to be outdoors as much as possible. Just to be around him was a learning curve for me. People forget that though he spends a lot of time in the gym, outdoor sport is very important because as an actor, the more you play, the more you use your mind, the more you become active, the more presence and awareness you have and all this helps you get better ideas,” Angad adds.

While many feel that Salman gets severe mood swings, Angad calls him an “extremely chilled out” person. He says, “The man behind the stardom is so humble, caring, loving and that’s a person I got to know and feel privileged to have spent time with him.”
