Jason Momoa loves the ocean and how

-

It will be an understatement to say that Hollywood actor Jason Momoa is excited to play, Aquaman in the upcoming stand-alone film on the superhero from the DC comics universe. If anything, the 39-year-old actor feels destined to play the character, because just like the character of Arthur McCurry/ Aquaman, Momoa too, lived on an island. “Like Arthur, I was a half-breed, split between Iowa and Hawaii, so I could definitely identify with that. And from the Philippines to Hawaii to Tahiti and Fiji… Many islands have their celebrated water gods. That resonated with me, instantly,” he was quoted as saying.

Not just that, Momoa has also studied marine biology in college. “I studied marine biology growing up in Iowa. Surprisingly, they had this campus in the middle of Des Moines, and it was all aquatics —sharks, eels and so on. I love the ocean, being an islander. It’s something that absolutely scares me, yet draws me in. It’s calming. It’s always evolving. It’s always moving. Like fire, you can just stare at it. The mind’s constantly entertained by it. You can get lost in it,” he added.
