lack and grey, thick and grizzled, patchy and stubble — Bollywood actors are having their own beard moments amid the lockdown. With salons and stylists out of reach, Kartik Aaryan and Arjun Rampal took it upon themselves to go back to a cleaner look. beard. For one, there’s Milind Soman, who raised a “simple question” — “Beard ??? Or no beard ???” — through his post. And his wife Ankita Konwar was upfront as she commented, “A bearded farmer.”

Shahid Kapoor, too, posted a funky video showcasing his beard, and wrote, “Entering quarantine phase 4 be like .... ” Riteish Deshmukh is going grey with his hair and beard, while Vicky Kaushal and Ranveer Singh’s bearded looks are winning hearts.

Darshan Yewalekar, the man behind Singh’s beard in Padmaavat and Simmba (both 2018), says people should not take matters into their own hands, even if they are itching to clean up. He, however, adds, “Men must keep their facial hair hygienic, and oil and shampoo it from time to time.”
