Flying high after the success of his recent digital offering, actor Karan Tacker is looking forward to taking a break and jetting off to Doha, Qatar, for the 2022 FIFA World Cup semis, along with sister Sasha.

Ardent football fans have been thronging the country to watch their favourite clubs play, but that is not the case for Tacker, who says he isn’t “a big fan of the sport”. So why is he attending the event? “I have been to Doha before and since then, visiting the country was on my mind. This seemed like the perfect opportunity. I’m looking forward to it,” he explains.

Before the Special OPS actor leaves for the semi-finals, he will take some time to update himself with the ongoing tournament. He explains, “It is too early for me to comment on who I am rooting for, because I don’t even know what all has happened (laughs). For every sport, it is all about the energy and I am looking forward to being in the stadium and vibing with the fans’ infectious energy.”

Tacker isn’t the only actor from India attending the World Cup. Actor Aamir Khan and his family were spotted returning from Doha, while several other celebrities, including composer duo Salim-Sulaiman and singer Sunidhi Chauhan, have also represented India at the sports event. Tacker shares, “For me, the fondest memory of FIFA
