Members of Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) women wing on Tuesday targeted the government and staged a demonstration outside chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence demanding action against AAP leader Kumar Vishwas.

The women protesters, around 50 in number marched towards Kejriwal’s residence around 11am from Civil Lines, and shouted slogans against Vishwas.

The BJP workers were stopped enroute before they could reach Kejriwal’s residence. The women workers then stayed put at the spot for 45 minutes demanding action against Vishwas before the police finally managed to disperse them.

Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay later said this was not the first time that a woman volunteer of AAP had been humiliated.

“Kejriwal and his AAP leaders have a very poor record when it comes to respecting women. Almost all senior women activists who started out with Kejriwal have either quit the party or have been sidelined,” Upadhyay said.

Elsewhere, BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri also targeted the AAP stating that the party, which is known for its Jan Lokpal movement, had abandoned its mission after coming to power in Delhi.

Bidhuri was speaking at an event organised by the Delhi government, where deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia was also present. “AAP is known for its Jan Lokpal movement and has always demanded its implementation. But after they came in power in Delhi, the Jan Lokpal agenda went missing,” Bidhuri said at the foundation-laying ceremony of Phase-II of Indraprastha Institute of Information technology in Okhla Industrial area.

“When AAP came to power they announced the opening of 500 schools, but now it has come down to 250 schools. Going by this statistics, thirty schools have to come under one constituency. Forget 30, I ask them to open just two schools in five years in areas dominated by weaker sections of the society,” Bidhuri said.

In response, Sisodia said, “Don’t worry we will open all the 30 schools in south Delhi.”
