Four more criminals from Mewat, members of Gang of 10, have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a Gujarat-based businessman.

The businessman, who dealt in metal and scrap, was abducted along with his employees from Delhi in February.

The victims, who had arrived in Delhi for a business deal, were rescued from the clutches of their kidnappers on February 5.

The kidnappers had lured the victims on the pretext of selling scrap valued at around ` 1 crore at a throw away price. The gang had planned to extort ` 1 crore from the businessman’s family but ended up demanding ` 10 lakh as the businessman had made them believe that they had only abducted the employees of trading company.

Naseem, a B.Ed degree holder, Iliyas, Irfan and Abid, were arrested on Monday by a crime branch team led by ACP KPS Malhotra and inspector PC Yadav under the supervision of additional CP Ashok Chand and DCP Bhisham Singh. Five more accused are still absconding in the case.

While Iliyas carried a cash reward of ` 1 lakh on his arrest, ` 50,000 each was declared on the other three accused, said Ravindra Yadav, joint CP (crime).

Another gang member named Javed, diploma holder in mechanical engineering, was arrested on the same day the victims were rescued.
