Four held for robberies
T he police on late Thursday arrested four youths for their alleged involvement in more than a dozen cases of vehicle theft.
The accused, identified as Chirag Gupta, Rahul Gupta, Sunil and Jagveer, were arrested following a raid at one of their hideouts.
“One of the member of the gang, identified as Mohit Bhardwaj was arrested three days ago from Sector 24 area. During interrogation, he revealed names and addresses of the other gang members. A team was set up, which immediately laid a trap near Sector 54 green area and the accused were apprehended,” said a senior police official.
Accused Chirag hails from Aligarh, Rahul from Mathura, Sunil hails from Bihar and Jagveer hails from Aligarh. All had come to the city separately in search of job but formed a gang and started robbing people. All of the accused were residing in rented accommodations in Ghaziabad, Noida and Greater Noida.
