Students held for supplying party drug worth 30 lakh

Consignment was for young people who often attend rave parties in NCR

Shubham and Prabhat are classmates pursuing Mass Communication, Mudgal has been into the business of importing surgical equipment after completing his MBA from Singapore.

“We received information that two men would come near Japanese Park in Rohini in a Swift Dzire. A trap was laid and Shubham and Prabhat were nabbed with 183 grams of amphetamine. Interrogation revealed the drug was supplied to them by Mudgal who was later arrested and 92 grams of amphetamine was recovered from him,” said Ravindra Yadav, joint CP (crime).

Interrogation revealed the banned drug was supplied to them by one Dheeraj Nepali whom they knew for the past few months. Nepali allegedly had borrowed some money from the three youths and was not returning it.

“When the three insisted he return their money, Nepali gave them a few small packets of Amphetamine and told them the cost of one packet was over ` 3,000. He convinced them that supplying the drug to his contacts would help them earn easy money which they can use for leading a lavish lifestyle. However, before they could get the names of the receivers, we nabbed them,” said a senior police officer adding they are now looking for Nepali.

Amphetamine stimulates the central nervous system by increasing the amount of certain chemicals in the body and is habit forming.

APART FROM 275 GM OF DRUGS, A MARUTI SWIFT DZIRE CAR AND A SCOOTY WERE ALSO RECOVERED FROM THE STUDENTS’ POSSESSION
