TOTTENHAM

With Leicester dropping points against West Brom, Spurs had an opportunit­y to head the top flight for the first time since 1964. But that wasn’t to be. They ran into a spirited West Ham on their home turf and came away 0-1 losers which also ended their sixgame winning run.

ARSENAL

The Gunners were suppose to have the easiest game among the challenger­s when they hosted Swansea City, who are fighting to keep out of the relegation zone. But Arsene Wenger’s team imploded, losing 2-1, and ended the night with fans booing them off the pitch at The Emirates.

MANCHESTER CITY

The strongest team on paper among the contenders, City have not been able to stitch together a good run of late. Defeat against Liverpool meant they lost their third straight game on the trot. Their only solace is a game in hand.

MANCHESTER UNITED

The indifferen­t form of challenger­s and some gritty performanc­es have helped the Red Devils push closer to the top four. The 1-0 win over Watford helped them go level on points with City and are just four short off Arsenal’s tally.
