Delhi exec abducted in Gurgaon found at picket near Ajmer

GURGAON: An employee working with a private insurance firm, who was allegedly abducted from Subhash Chowk around 9.30 pm on Monday, was rescued at a police barricade at Pali in Rajasthan on Tuesday.

The two gun wielding criminals, who had abducted 30-yearold Samarth Kohli, resident of Tilak Nagar in Delhi, managed to flee from the spot after noticing the police barricade at Raipur in Pali district.

Kohli, who works as a senior manager, was returning home when the lights of his Honda Civic car malfunctio­ned near Subash Chowk U-turn and he came out to of the car, according to police officials. The two criminals were standing at the spot looking for a potential victim. They took him at gunpoint and pushed him to the rear seat of the car. The informatio­n about the abduction was given to Gurgaon Police in the wee hours of Tuesday after which the rescue operation began.

Pali police were informed about the abductors by the Ajmer police who were tracking the movement of the culprits on informatio­n received from the Gurgaon police.

A team of Gurgaon police reached Pali on Tuesday afternoon to question Kohli . They also brought him back.

“The accused took him to Rewari, Jaipur, Ajmer and they were finally pinned down in Pali district based on the ATM trail. They managed to get ₹2 lakh withdrawn from the accused,” said sub-inspector Sandeep Ahlawat from the Sadar police station.
