‘POOR PLANNING’ LEADS TO BICKERING AT DELHI BJP MEET
NEW DELHI: ‘Poor’ coordination caused embarrassment for Delhi BJP leaders on the second day of its executive committee meeting as their senior party colleague and union minister Piyush Goyal questioned media presence at the venue.
The Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari rushed to the state leadership’s rescue and informed the minister that journalists were sent invitations especially to attend his session.
Goyal said he wanted to address party workers and talk about the organisation. He added this opportunity will be lost in the presence of journalists. Media persons subsequently left the venue.
Tiwari blamed communication gap for the confusion.
“The minister was not aware of media presence as generally journalists are not invited to cover the executive committee meetings. But we decided to keep the session open for media. It seems that there was some communication gap,” he said.
The meeting was held on Tuesday at PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry auditorium in south Delhi, which was attended by national general secretary Ram Lal, state affairs in-charge Shyam Jaju, Lok Sabha MPs, former Delhi BJP chiefs, and other senior leaders.
Earlier, members of the executive committee complained about lack of coordination saying the agenda for the meeting was not made available to them.
