NEWDELHI:Two groups of students filed complaints against each other, after they briefly clashed at Delhi University on Tuesday.

The Left-leaning All India Students’ Association (AISA) activists in their complaint alleged that they were attacked by members of the RSS-backed Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) within the Delhi University premises. The activists also claimed that the incident took place in the presence of police officials.

Three AISA members, Dhanpal Singh, a student of Ramjas College, Rajeev Kumar from Shivaji College and Sujit Chandravanshi from department of east Asian studies, DU have filed a complaint with the Maurice Nagar Police Station about the incident.

The AISA members have filed complaints against the number of ABVP members, including the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) president Amit Tanwar.

Tanwar, however, claimed that ABVP did not resort to violence and had only spoken to the AISA members and told them to stop the alleged name calling of their female volunteer. “We have also registered a complaint of harassment at the Maurice Nagar police station,” he said.

Senior police officials at the police station said that no case had been registered. “We have received complaints from both the parties. There was no violence,” said the senior police officer.

PROTEST AGAINST ONLINE ENTRANCE
