-

NEW DELHI: Delhi University students, who are looking to pursue short term professional courses, have many options to pick from at the Campus of Open Learning. The institute offers a wide range of short term professional courses for DU students starting from medical transcription to 3D animation to Radio Jockeying and Travel Tourism.

Courses on offer cover a wide range of topics; from media and communications to travel and tourism and from graphic designing to medical transcription. Most of these courses are job-oriented, and train students in specific skills like radio jockeying, photography, marketing and airfare and ticketing, among many others.

Though most of the 25 programmes on offer run for six months, the duration differs from course to course and some run for as little as a month and a half.

All the courses are open to all DU students with special preference given to students of School of Open Learning and the Non Collegiate Women’s Education Board, who may be looking to enrich their chosen degree course. There are a few eligibility caveats attached with the different courses, which are listed in detail online, and some courses also require students to go through a screening test.

Interested DU students can download the form online, or pick up a form for ₹50 from the Campus of Open Learning at Keshavpuram to apply to the courses. Completed forms, with a demand draft for ₹250 drawn in the favour of the DU registrar will need to be submitted at the COL campus in Keshavpuram.

The course fees range from ₹5,000 to ₹40,000 for the entire course, and many of these courses are run in association with other private entities and organisations.
