:The Haryana government on Sunday made it mandatory for all government and private schools in the state to install CCTV cameras covering entire premises, constitute safety committees, ensure safe transport for students and take steps in generating awareness among the students on good touch and bad touch as well as internet hazards.

The order comes after the brutal murder of an eight-yearold boy in Ryan International School in Bhondsi.

The school has now been taken over the district administration and it will open on Monday — 10 days after it was closed due to the murder of the Class 2 student.

The Gurgaon deputy commissioner will administer the school for three months. The government had also ordered a CBI probe into the murder.

“As per orders of directorate of school education, DC will join as administrator of the school on Monday and school will open on normal basis,” said an official spokesperson. The DC will later interact with the mediapersons at his office in mini secretariat in the afternoon.

“We are opening the school after sanitising the area and ensuring that everything is normal,” said Vinay Pratap Singh, DC Gurgaon.

The school was closed on September 8 when an eight-year-old boy was murdered in a school toilet in the morning. The police had arrested 42-year-old bus conductor Ashok Kumar in the evening on charges of murder and offences under Pocso Act were added later. Two officials of Ryan management were arrested and booked under Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.

The district administration would look after non-academic affairs like functioning and monitoring of CCTV cameras, transport safety policy, separate toilets for support staff members, security, and staff verification.

The academic functions will not be affected, said the spokesperson.

Singh also held a meeting on Saturday with officials of private schools regarding safety and infrastructure matters.

Presence in the school is expected to be thin on Monday as several parents are adopting wait and watch policy for two to three days from opening of the school.
