GREATER NOIDA: Two people were killed and three others were injured after a LPG cylinder exploded inside a house in Mandpa village in Dankaur on Thursday afternoon, police said.

Police said the incident took place when Suleman, 60, was trying to fix a damaged door of his house with the help of his grandson (daughter’s son) Aamir, 16, around 12.30pm on Thursday. They were trying to straighten an iron strip by heating it on the stove attached to a mini LPG cylinder when suddenly the cylinder exploded, police said.

“Suleman, along with some of his family members, was trying to fix the damaged iron gate in the house. He was trying to weld the broken door with a 5 kg LPG cylinder when the cylinder suddenly exploded. Suleman, a farmer by profession, and his grandson Aamir, a student, were killed on the spot. Two others who were present at the site of the blast were injured and taken to a hospital,” said Farmood Ali Pundir, station house officer, Dankaur police station.
