Kant En­clave res­i­dents seek re­lief from govt

Af­ter the Supreme Court or­dered the de­mo­li­tion of con­struc­tions in Kant En­clave on the Delhi-Haryana border in Farid­abad district, lo­cal res­i­dents on Satur­day urged the state gov­ern­ment to look at their case. They also urged the Haryana’s for­est de­part­ment to de-no­tify the 1992 no­ti­fi­ca­tion in which they had de­clared Kant En­clave as a for­est zone.

The RWA mem­bers said that the Haryana gov­ern­ment had not mod­i­fied the master plan to show for­est in the area nei­ther was the no­ti­fi­ca­tion made pub­lic or placed in the colony. Deputy con­ser­va­tor of forests, Farid­abad, Suresh Pu­nia de­clined to com­ment.
