TAMIM OUT OF ASIA CUP AF­TER BRAVE SHOW

Bangladesh bats­man Tamim Iqbal, who put up a brave front by re­turn­ing to bat with a frac­tured left wrist as the last man in Satur­day’s clash against Sri Lanka and help­ing stitch 32 runs with Mush­fiqur Rahim, has been ruled out of the re­main­der of the Asia Cup. The Bangladesh opener was hit by a Su­ranga Lak­mal de­liv­ery in the sec­ond over af­ter he missed a pull shot. The left­handed bats­man will be out of ac­tion for at least six months. Tamim, who is also the high­est run-get­ter for Bangladesh, has been in form. He played a key role in the re­cent win over West Indies in ODIs, scor­ing two cen­turies.
