TAMIM OUT OF ASIA CUP AFTER BRAVE SHOW
Bangladesh batsman Tamim Iqbal, who put up a brave front by returning to bat with a fractured left wrist as the last man in Saturday’s clash against Sri Lanka and helping stitch 32 runs with Mushfiqur Rahim, has been ruled out of the remainder of the Asia Cup. The Bangladesh opener was hit by a Suranga Lakmal delivery in the second over after he missed a pull shot. The lefthanded batsman will be out of action for at least six months. Tamim, who is also the highest run-getter for Bangladesh, has been in form. He played a key role in the recent win over West Indies in ODIs, scoring two centuries.
