RAAHGIRI COMES TO NEW GURUGRAM

Posters highlighting Earth Day on April 22 are held up by children participating at the event; Over 1,000 residents, including women, children and senior citizens, gathered on the Sector 86/90 Road near DLF Gardencity on Sunday to celebrate the first-ever Raahgiri Day in the developing sectors of Gurugram. The event was organised by United Association of New Gurugram and the Raahgiri Foundation team. The event will be held every weekend for the next two months, during this which the Sector 86/90 Road will go completely vehicle free and open for street plays, cycling, sports, art classes, etc. Inspired by the Ciclovia movement in Bogota, Raahgiri Day is a public initiative that began in Gurugram on November 17, 2013, and has since then spread to over 70 cities.
