3-year-old girl kidnapped from outside Sec 53 home
IN THEIR POLICE COMPLAINT, THE GIRL’S PARENTS ALLEGED THAT SHE HAD BEEN MISSING SINCE 3PM ON THURSDAY, WHEN SHE WAS LAST SEEN PLAYING OUTSIDE THE HOUSE
GURUGRAM: The police on Friday booked an unidentified person for allegedly kidnapping a threeyear-old girl from outside her house in Sector 53.
The police said that they were approached by the parents of the girl, after which they registered a case.
The police said they are yet to identify the suspect, but have obtained CCTV camera footage from different locations.
In the police complaint, the girl’s parents alleged that she had been missing since 3pm on Thursday when she was playing outside the house.
Preet Pal Sangwan, assistant commissioner of police (crime), said that during the investigation, a few persons in the neighbourhood said that they had seen the girl with a man who had offered her an apple. “We have obtained CCTV camera footage, but no one has identified him yet, as he did not look familiar,” he said.
A kidnapping case was registered at Sushant Lok 1 police station.
The police said nine teams were formed and a manhunt was launched on Thursday evening.
Sangwan said the minor was playing outside her house. The father was out for work and the mother was doing household chores when the girl started playing with the neighbourhood children.
The girl was picked up by the unidentified man and was taken towards Golf Course Road around 3.50pm, the police said.
The nine teams include three crime teams, and raids are being conducted in different areas, the police said.
