21-year-old worker booked for raping minor girl in Sec 51

GURUGRAM: The police on Thursday booked a 21-year-old man for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl in his neighbourh­ood in Sector 51. The police are yet to arrest the suspect, who allegedly fled after the victim’s father saw him sexually assault his daughter.

According to the girl, the suspect, a constructi­on worker from Madhya Pradesh, first raped her on October 17, when he allegedly took her to one of his friend’s place.

In her complaint to the police, the minor stated that the suspect, a constructi­on worker from Madhya Pradesh, moved to her neighbourh­ood after her father got him a job at a constructi­on site he was supervisin­g. Soon, the man became acquainted with the girl, and the two allegedly became friendly. “On Thursday, the suspect entered the house in the absence of family members and raped her,” said ACP (crime) Preet Pal Sangwan.

“The medical examinatio­n has confirmed rape and we have recorded the girl’s statement,” said Sangwan.

According to the girl, the man first raped her on October 17, when he allegedly took her to one of his friend’s place. The girl further alleged that one of the friends of the suspect also harassed her. The police have registered a case under Section 6 of the POCSO Act and sections 506, 363 and 34 of the IPC.
