Several men chase and beat a 25-year-old man with a hammer and rods on the suspicion that he is carrying beef in his pick-up truck, in Trunk Market, near Jama Masjid

After beating the victim, identified as Lukman, for nearly 20 minutes, the suspects bundle him in his pick-up truck and take him to Jail Chowk in Badhshahpur, where he is again beaten up. Cops reach the area. The suspects manhandle policemen, who are leading the victim into a police vehicle. Several cops look on as the suspects beat the victim and break window panes of the police vehicle. Some try to drag the victim from the police vehicle too

The victim is rushed to a hospital and discharged two hours later. Police lodges and FIR. One suspect is arrested

SHO of Badhshahpur police station transferred to police lines for negligence in duties as several videos go viral.

Sunday, August 2

Three policemen suspended for failing to take action. The case is transferred to crime branch. A second suspect is arrested.

Monday, August 3

Two more suspects arrested including a prime suspect, who was beating the victim with a hammer.
