Union health ministry said all sub-lineages of Delta variant are VOC, following a similar move by Public Health England

These include AY.1, now also known as Delta Plus, and AY.2, which has not been detected in India

AY.1 is being tracked for the K417N mutation, which is also in the Beta variant and may lead to vaccine resistance

AY.2 has a Spike protein mutation known as A222V which is also being studied by the scientific community
