Kharge’s co ordinators to handle communication, state interactions
NEW DELHI: The four coordinators appointed last week for Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s office will handle myriad responsibilities that will help him communicate more effectively within the organisation and also focus on two key responsibilities — the 2024 general election and the reshuffle of the party — party leaders familiar with the matter said.
On November 15, Kharge appointed Rajya Sabha MP Syed Nasir Hussain, AICC secretary Pranav Jha, Former Rajya Sabha TV CEO Gurdeep Singh Sappal and national coordinator for digital communications Gaurav Pandhi as coordinators.
According to one of the party leaders mentioned above, these coordinators will primarily handle subjects such as Kharge’s programmes, his interaction within the AICC, liaisoning with various states and interacting with citizens.
“The coordinators will handle everything in the office so that the President can entirely focus on key decision-making, political and policy issues. Their role is to ensure the top office runs seamlessly,” said the leader.
A party functionary who did not want to be named said, “The work allotment has not been done yet. But we have been told that the primary responsibility would be to handle various aspects of the Congress president’s office.”
“Someone will look into the communication while someone will help him in his interactions with the state units. While everything will be done according to his instructions, coordinators will handle logistics and other issues,” the functionary added.
