Imparting Quality Education through Swami Atmanand Excellent Schools
Swami Atmanand English Medium School is a chain of English medium school established by the Government of Chhattisgarh. Under the scheme, education is free till class 8, thereafter there is a nominal fee till class 12
‘Swami Atmanand Excellent School Scheme’ has created a revolution in the field of school education. Launched in November 2020, the schools, under the scheme, are fully funded by the Department of School Education, Government of Chhattisgarh. The objective of the scheme is to provide quality education to the students and to promote skill development and various educational activities of the students in these schools.
These schools impart education with a view to enhance the talent of the students of the state and to make them capable of all kinds of higher competitions at national and international level. Along with state-of-the-art library and lab, computer and science lab, full facility of online education is also being provided in these schools. Under the Swami Atmanand English Medium School Scheme, the work of permanent recruitment of more than 14,000 teachers was started in the first phase, which is now in the final stages. Apart from this, the process of recruitment of 10,000 teachers has also been started.
The scheme was started with 51 schools, and the number has now increased to 279 schools. Out of these, 32 schools are of Hindi medium and in 247 schools education is being i mparted in English medium along with Hindi.
This year, 2,52,600 children have taken admission in these schools, in which 1,03,000 children are of English medium and 1,49, 600 children of Hindi medium.
Seeing the success of this scheme, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has decided that more and more schools will be brought under this scheme.
This scheme will be implemented in 422 schools before the next academic session, out of which 252 schools will be in Bastar and Surguja divisions and 100% government high and higher secondary schools will be there in Dantewada district. The Government has also started the process of setting up an international level boarding school in Nava Raipur.
