Cash high: artistes’ award money hiked

The chief minister honoured 21 artistes for their contributi­on in promoting culture and traditions of Haryana. Shashi Ranjan was awarded with Pt Lakhmi Chand Award for direction. The award carried cash prize of R1.51 lakh, a shawl and citation.

The best actor award for folk theatre was conferred upon Ram Sharan Sharma whereas the award for best music was given away to Dulla and the award for music was given away to Dhan Singh. The award for folk dance went to Madan.

Fauji Jaat Mehar Singh Award was jointly conferred upon Raj Kumar Dhankar and Pt Jaggan Nath. Rakesh Kiloi and Ranbir Badwasniya were awarded for writing songs and ‘raginis’ Krishan was awarded for rhythms; and Gulab Singh for best composer.
